I’m coming back to the topic of vocal cord closure once again because it is so relevant to learning how to sing better. Vocal cord closure is the idea of having your vocal cords come together correctly in order to produce that strong brassy tone and ring in your voice. Vocal cord closure also helps you regulate your air flow, giving you incredible breath control. I came across a YouTube video done by Singing Success today that deals in depth with vocal cord closure. Brett picks the topic apart and gives some good insight on how it functions in your voice. You will do well to check out this lesson. Really pay attention to what Brett has to say – he gives some excellent nuggets of wisdom about vocal cord closure.
What do you think about vocal cord closure? How does it impact you as a singer? Do you struggle with this technique? I’d love to hear your comments!
As always, sing on my friends!
